Dear ESNA member,
We have recently received this communication from our colleagues at the International league against epilepsy. I believe the link should be of great interest to all nurses working in the field of epilepsy. Please take the time to have a look at the link below.
The ILAE UK Chapter had gathered a working group to finalise recommendations on epilepsy care for women, with regard to improving safety for women around pregnancy and delivery. This has now resulted in a publication (doi: 10.1016/j.seizure.2017.05.004) arising from input from representatives of the Royal Colleges, Patient organisations, epilepsy nurses, and pharmacists. We have now brought together these recommendations in a webpage hosted on our website ( http://ilaebritish.org.uk/epilepsy-and-women ).
As you can see, this page contains a list of Could-do/Should do’s for patients and a range of health professionals. We aim to promote this latter link via royal colleges, MHRA, patient organisations etc, and would hope that all interested groups could access the link directly to help improve outcomes.
Feel free to circulate this link to anyone you think would benefit.
